Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent corona, by shielding the coil-end with double layer of high resistance corona shield consisting of a dry-tape applied with insulator powder, and causing one layer to be wound in lap winding and the other layer to be wound in bag-like winding.
CONSTITUTION: The coil conductor part 11 of the coil-end 10 is provided with an insulator layer from outside, and a low resistance corona shield layer 13 is formed on the outer rotor outlet portion of the insulator layer 12, on which an insulator layer 14 is provided partly overlapping thereon, thus successively disposed and fixed from inside are, an inner high resistance corona shield layer 14, an intermediate insulator layer 15, and an outer high resistance corona shield layer 16. A dry- tape 17 is used as the high resistance corona shield layer 14, 16, said tape consists of a glass-cloth tape impregnated with varnish containing silicon carbide, and one of said layers is wound in lap winding and the other is wound in bag-like winding. In this construction, the voltage distribution is made uniform so that damage of the insulator layers by corona occurring along the surface thereof can be prevented.
