Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct the cooling red-hot coke and the recovery of sensible heat, effectively, by introducing the rd-hot coke into a cooling chamber furnished with water-tubes at the walls, and generating electricity by steam generated by the radiant heat of the coke.
CONSTITUTION: Red-hot coke pushed out from a coke oven 1 to a coke guide car 2 is introduced into a per-cooling chamber 4-1, and after proper time interval, it is transferred to a post-cooling chamber 4-2, and cooled to a desired temperature. Water in the water-tubes 17 at the cooling walls 18-1, 18-2, is evaporated by the rediant heat of the red-hot coke, and heated in water-collecting pipes 16-1 and a steam drum 6 to steam having desired temperature and pressure. The steam is further heated by a superheater 7 and sent to a tubine 9 via a velocity regulator valve 8. A generator 10 is driven by the turbine 9 to generate electricity. The steam is condensed in a condenser 11, sent to a water drum 12, and recycled to the water- tubes 17 via water-collecting pipes 16-2
