Abstract
PURPOSE:To make recording medium of high sensitivity by disposing a low melting point material layer in proximity to the recording layer in which property constant changes with energy beams. CONSTITUTION:A low melting point material layer 2 of preferably melting points 80 to 40 deg.C is provided on a metal or non-metallic substrate 1 to thicknesses 200 to 50Angstrom through vacuum evaporation of, e.g., paraffinic material. Over this is provided a recording layer 3 such as of Bi and further a protecting layer 4 is laminated thereon to a thickness preferably less than 20mu. At the time when recording is accomplished on such recording medium through radiation of a laser beam, the layer 2 is mostly removed or the removal of only part thereof is also equally satisfactory, thus the thermal deformation removal of the layer 3 is promoted.
