Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a ball screw nut of a complete cylinder having a uniform thickness and required of no notches, by exposing parts of ball circulation tubes embedded in the nut and fitting the parts with pullout members for tool engagement.
CONSTITUTION: Tube grooves 15 oblique as to the axis of a screw shaft 11 are provided on the peripheral surface of the nut 12. The ball circulation tubes 14 are embedded in the grooves 15 to such an extent that the tubes do not project from the peripheral surface of the nut 12. Two holes 17 extending to the inside surface of the nut 12 are provided at the bottom of each tube groove 15 and fit to curved parts of the tube 14. The tube 14 having both its ends 14A inserted in the holes 17 has a projection 14B at the top of each curved part. The tube 14 can be easily pulled out by engaging a screwdriver with the projection 14B and then pulling the screwdriver. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide the nut 12 with any grooves for pulling out the tubes, and the nut can have a cylindrical form effective for heat treatment and strength
