Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically detect the abrasion of an electric sharge carrier and quantitatively determine it by detecting the impedance between the electric conductive body in contact with the face of the electric charge carrier and the electric conductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: Electric charge carrier body 1a bonded on electric conductive layer 1b is dielectric as well as resistor, hence the degree of abrasion can be detected by the change of its impedance. The impedance detection circuit comprises constant voltage circuit 11, comparation circuit 13, light emitting diode 14, and switching element 15 and the like, and the resistance of electric path from terminal 10 to conductive layer 1b via brush 9, roller 8, and carrier 1a is shown by resistor R1a. The output voltage of the constant voltage circuit 11 is applied to the carrier 1a via resistor R2. Voltage in proportion to the carrier 1a, namely, in proportion to the degree of abrasion appears at the terminal 10, and this voltage is compared with the comparison reference voltage determined by fixed resistor R3 and variable resistor R4. When it is less than the reference value, namely, abrasion reaches the set value, the light emitting diode 14 emits light to let it know.
