Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the precise light distribution characteristic as well as the optional distribution of illumination intensity in a simple construction by providing a light source unit at one end of the light transmitting fiber bundle and a member which holds the predetermined form of the light transmitting fiber bundle and also distributes with the predetermined density at the other end thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The light radiated from the filament 4 of electric bulf 3 is reflected by reflecting mirrors of ellipse and spherical forms, respectively to be incident onto one end of light transmitting fiber bundle 7, and it passes through the interior of the bundle 7 to radiate from its other end. The other end of the bundle 7 is held by holding member 9 such that the light transmitting fiber 8,... is distributed and held in the predetermined form and density, hence the precise light distribution characteristic is obtained, and the optional distribution of illumination intensity, is also obtained by changing the shape of holding hole 10 of the member 9. Accordingly, the pricese light distribution characteristic and the optional distribution of illumination intensity can be obtained in a simple construction. Moerover, one end of the light transmitting fiber bundle may be direcly disposed in the opening of the reflecting mirror by placing the light source in the reflecting mirror with the rotating ellepsoedal or parabolical plane with no provision of a spherical reflecting mirror.
