Abstract

PURPOSE:To continously and mechanically seal small containers used for containing cosmetics or drugs, by using a sheet such as a Al foil, plastic sheet or the like. CONSTITUTION:A seeling sheet 8 comprises a carrier 1 such as a sheet of paper or the like and releasable lidembers 2 of Al foil adhered to the carrier 1, the number of lid members being corresponded to the number od containers 12 to be sealed. The sealing sheet 8 is overlaid upon opaining portions of the containers 12, and after the sealing sheet 8 is heated and pressed to bond the lids to the containers 12, the carrier is removed. For example, in one embodiment the containers 12 are fed into a sealing portion 11 by a conveyor 13. After positions of the lids 2 are affirmed by a phototube head 10, the sealing sheet 8 is fed to the sealing portion 11 at such a rate that the feed rate of the sealing sheet 8 is matched to the feed rate of the containers 12. At the sealing portion openings of the containers 12 are overlaied with the sheet 8, and heat and pressure are applied on th sheet 8 to heat-seal the lids 2 onto the containers 12. By this process several containers or tens of containers can be simultaneously sealed. The carrier 1 is removed from the lids 2 and wound around by a winding roll 14. The sealed containers are successively conveyed to a downstream step.
