Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus capable of giving clear indication of shift position of the shift lever, by fitting a magnifying lens in each window for showing a needle indicator which is moved with shifting of the shift lever and located at one of shift positions.
CONSTITUTION: In front of needle indicator 1 that is moved with shifting of the shift lever, there is provided an indication board unit 3 having a plurality of windows 2 for convering the passageway of needle indicator 1 and for showing the same when it is located at one of shift positions. Further, a magnifying lens 4 is fitted in respective windows 2. Here, it is natural that windows 2 having a greater width give a clearer indication of the needle 1, but in practice, there in imposed limitation on the size of these windows, so that it is not possible to make the size of windows 2 so large. With the above arrangement, however, clear indication of needle 1 can be given if the window width is not so large, since window arears are magnified by the lens fitted in respective windows 2, so that the driver can confirm the shift position with ease.
