Abstract
PURPOSE: The title self-curing composition having improved storage stability, capable of flowing, curable by heating in air, and forming a film with improved surface smoothness, mechanical properties, and humidity resistance, obtained by adding a specific metal (metallic compound) to an air-drying polyester solid at a room temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of A) 100 parts by wt. of an air-drying polyester having a tricyclodecene ring, a norbornene ring, etc., solid at a room temperature, B) not less than 2 parts by wt., preferably not less than 1 part by wt. (calculated as a metallic element) of one or more metals (compounds) selected from the group consisting of aluminum, lead, manganese, cobalt, and their compounds, which are dissolved in the ingredient A, and, if necessary, C) not more than one part by wt. (calculated as a metallic element) of a calcium, a zinc, or a zirconium compound.
USE: Protection of substrates, electrical appliances, e.g., an electric washing machine, and trafic-control signs.
