Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase the capacity of a battery and to properly select the layout of a movement and the shapes of respective elements by sandwitching an annular battery between the outer side of the movement and a member supporting the movement. CONSTITUTION:In wrist watch of analog type having hands, a movement 6 has buit-in quartz oscillator and gear trains and is mounted to a case 1 at its outer end portion 6a. A battery 8 having an annular shape is sandwitched between the outer circumference of the movement 6 and the case 1 and is insulated from the movement 6 and the case 1 through insulating rings 9 and 11. The movement 11 is supported by the axial force of a contact spring 12 upon the battery 8. Thus, it is possible to retain a large internal volume of the battery and to dispense with the replacement of the battery for a long time.
