Abstract
PURPOSE: A hearth rail alloy excellent in thermal shock resistance which is suitable for metal holder for skid rider in hearth rail, manufactured by adding Mo and Nb to a Ni-Cr-Fe base alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy, consisting of 0.3 to 0.5% C, 1.0 to 1.8% Si, 1.0 to 1.8% Mn, 26 to 30% Cr, 34 to 38% Ni, 3 to 7% Co, any one or both of 0.5 to 2.0% Mo and 0.5 to 3.0% Nb, and Fe, is used for a hearth rail alloy which is free of cracking damage due to abrupt thermal cycle load.
