Abstract
PURPOSE:The electrically-conductive hub at the ground part is connected with the revolving head of insulating material by fitting and simultaneously the drivng part that makes to rotate the revolving head at a high speed is covered with an insulating material, thus preventing sparks and imporving the coating efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Electrically-conductive hub 2 applied with electrically high voltage is made to revolve at a high speed by motor 5 and a paint from pipe 13 is negatively charged by induction. The charged paint is sprayed from a number of fine holes 3 bored on the periphery of the hub by centrifugal force to form a thin film along the wall surface 15 of the revolving head 1. The fluidized paint moves from edge 16 to the opposite electrode, the surface of the substrate W, whereby the electrostatic coating is effected. At this time, even if the substrate is made to come near the rvolving head or the motor by an external force, the spark is perfectly prevented with inhibition of the ignition of solvents because they are covered with the housing 10 of insulating resin material.
