Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible the generation of camber to be perfectly prevented, by giving a specified gap difference to the right and left roll gaps between respective passes, according to the forecast rolling load for each of the normal and reverse rolling passes and the rigidity difference between the right and left mill post systems. CONSTITUTION:The rolling mill consists of the reducing roll 5 and the backup roll 6 and executes the normal and reverse rolling for the material 7 to be rolled; the mill spring factor of the left post system of above rolling mill is taken as Ml, and that of the right post system is taken as Mr, etc.; the left and right screws 1, 2, are tightened under the kiss-roll condition using the left and right load cells 3, 4, on purpose to obtain the mill spring constant for passes of normal and reverse rolling by the roll. After that, the difference between the set values of rolling reduction is operated from above mill spring constant and the rolling load of each roll depending on the specified formula, and a difference is given to the set values of rolling reduction for the left and right screw systems so as to make identical the left and right loads correspondingly to the mill spring condition at the normal and reverse rolling, on purpose to compensate the thickness difference between the left and right; hererby, the camber is prevented.
