Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the control accuracy controlling without producing the lag of detection, by receiving light emitted on the back face side of weld zone farther onward than just under the torch in welding progressing direction and controlling receiving quantity of light comparing with the appropriate value.
CONSTITUTION: The red heat zone 9 is put in an appearance around the molten pool 10 by the arc when the torch 3 and the backing strip 5 are advanced to the left. Then, difference signal of the above result is inputted in the welding condition controlling device 15 and welding current, voltage and welding speed etc. are controlled by the above output.
