Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce occurrence of undesired resonance caused by the frequency adjustment as well as increment of the insertion loss through adjustment of the resonance frequency by inserting the dielectric bar into the hollowed dielectric resonator. CONSTITUTION:The filter comprises input coupling bar 1 provided within the waveguide component, plural units of dielectric resonator 7 featuring the hollow part and the output coupling bar (not shown in the figure) each. To make the resonance frequency variable, dielectric bar 9 is inserted into hollowed dielectric resonator 7 via operation of Lexolite screw 8, thus increasing the equivalent dielectric constant of the resonator. The resonance frequency decreased as the equivalent dielectric constant of the resonator increases, and accordingly the resonance frequency can be reduced with insertion of bar 9.
