Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish an efficient production of a shift folk excellent in wear- proofness by a method which comprises spraying a molten wear-proof metal over a plane composed of a number of chip elements horizontally arranged, separating the chips from each other and fitting the chips to the sliding section of a shift folk. CONSTITUTION:A number of U-shaped cross sectional chip elemets 2 are so closely arranged on a plate 3 as to make outer sides 2a thereof plane. A molten wear- proof metal is sprayed over the plane from a spray gun 4 properly moving to form a homogenous deposited metal layer 2b thereon, thus integrating the chip elements 2 like a sheet. Then, the plate with the chip elements 2 thus integrated is reversed and treated likewise to form a deposited metal layer 2b on the other outer sides thereof. The chip element plate thus formed is given on impact by a hammer or the like to be divided into single chips 5. The chip 5 thus produced is each fitted to an attaching means 1b formed on the sliding sectin of a shift folk 1, thereby completing a product having sliding sectins with an improved wear-proofness.
