Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve an electro-coloring element provided with a solid conductor layer so as to permit easy formation of the solid ion conductor layer by coating a compound base solution for forming the solid ion conductor layer then drying the same in said element.
CONSTITUTION: An n-butanol 20% solution of, e.g., WCl6, is coated on a transparent conductive film of a NESA glass plate and is then dried, whereby the WO3 layer as an electro-coloring layer is provided. Next, an n-butanol 5% solution of Al(OC4H9)3 is coated thereon and is then dried, whereby the Al2O3 layer as a solid ion conductor layer is formed. Thereafter, a NESA glass plate assuming the electrode layer opposing to the tansparent conductive film of the abovementioned NESA glass plate is closely contacted and laminated onto this solid ion conductor layer.
