Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve high performance, size reduction, low noise and low cost by pulverizing a part of the cooling water circulating in a heat exchanger and spraying it on a heat transfer surface.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water is sprayed on the heat transfer surface of heat exchanger 21 from spray nozzle 22 on the discharge side of cooling water pump 27, via branch pipe 30 and control valve 29. By this, fine water drops attached to the heat transfer surface form a thin water film on the heat transfer surface and are evaporated on the heat transfer surface; and the high-temperature cooling water of heat exchanger 21 is cooled by their evaporation latent heat. By this system of evaporating fine water particles on the heat transfer surface, the amount of spray water is reduced to about 1/80 of the amount of spread water in the conventional method. Consequently, there is no need for recovery. Further, there is no need for a water spreading tank or a water spreading pump. Also, the amount of air supply is reduced. Thus, it is possible to achieve high performance, size reduction, low noise and low cost.
