Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title material with superior consumption resistance and electrical conductivity suitable for use as an electrode and a contact point material at a low cost by dispersion-adding W-Mo homogeneous solid soln. particles with a specified Mo/W ratio by wt. and W particles to Cu or Ag.
CONSTITUTION: To Cu or Ag are dispersion-added 20W80% of W-Mo homogeneous solid soln. (MoxWy) particles with the ratio of Mo/W by wt.=0.005W10 and 5W50% of W particles, satisfying the total amt. of the particles to be 30W90, pref. 50W80%. The resulting material can reduce electrode consumption and increase material working speed when used as a discharge working electrode, and it can hold low consumption and maintain electrical conductivity after switching at a low level when used as a contact point. The ratio of Mo/W by wt. is pref. 0.005W 2.5 in case of a discharge working electrode and 0.25W10 in case of a contact point.
