Abstract

PURPOSE: To continuously perform flow rate measurement by operating the valve provided to the tank bottom by the buoyancy of the float contained in a water storage tank and repeating the storage and discharge of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: When a tank 1 is empty, a valve 4 and float 6 are positioned in the lower part owing to gravity, and a valve seat 3 is held closed by the valve 4. When measuring liquid is supplied into the tank 1, the float 6 ascends along the guide bar 7 with an increase in the level of the liquid. When it abuts against a stopper 7a, it turns out that the valve 4 is lifted. When a fixed level is reached, a leaf spring 5 is also lifted together with the valve 4 and the valve 4 is opened from the seat 3, allowing the liquid in the tank 1 to be discharged. Since the rise of the float 6 causes a limit switch 8 to be turned ON, the opening times of the valve 4 are detected by this and from the times thus detected, the flow rate is measured.
