Abstract

PURPOSE: To compound the screens of the input pictures by memorizing the digital picture signals sent from the selector circuit via the 1-frame memory, reading out the picture signals based on the reference synchronism to generate the addresses and then setting the large-capacity memory to 1 even in case the number of the non- synchronous picture input is n.
CONSTITUTION: The digital picture signals and their vertical addresses are written at one time via the horizontal addresses and by 4H buffer memory 36, and then read out with the fixed horizontal addresses. Then the digital picture signals of the output and their vertical addresses are selected in time sharing through selector circuit 32. The digital picture signals sent from circuit 32 are memorized into 1-frame memory 6 via the fixed horizontal addresses and the vertical addresses given from the selector circuit, and then memory 6 is read out with the reference synchronism to generate 13' the addresses. As a result, only one large-capacity memory suffices even in case the number of the nonsynchronous picture input is n, and thus the screen compounding becomes possible for the nonsynchronous input pictures with n - 1 units of small-capacity memories.
