Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the system economy, by making common the pattern memory so that the Kanji pattern (Chinese character) can be delivered as it is without lowering processing speed, through the use of optical fiber for the data delivery line.
CONSTITUTION: The central control unit 1 and the Kanji input and output unit 23 are connected through the optical cable transmission line 22 using optical fibers. When the Kanji to be outputted is inputted from the input unit, the central control unit 1 selects the Kanji pattern signal corresponded from the Kanji pattern memory 25. The selected signal is converted into photo signal with the optical interface circuit 11, and is transmitted to the Kanji input and output unit 23 through the optical transmission line 22. On the other hand, the Kanji input and output unit 23 converts the optical signal incoming into electric signal at the optical interface circuit 24 and feeds it to the Kanji or print display after that.
