Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a cyclic phosphagen oligomer useful as an inorg. rubber, flame retarder, a medical polymer, an anticarcinogen, etc. in a reduced reaction time and a high yield by reacting a phosphorus component and a nitrogen component in an inert solvent using thiophosphoryl chloride as catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: In a solvent inert to chlorination, e.g. monochlorobenzene, xylene or nitrobenzene, a phosphorus component and a nitrogen component are reacted at 100W200, pref. 110W150°C using thiophosphoryl chloride as catalyst to obtain a cyclic phosphagen oligomer. Phosphorus pentachloride is used as the phosphorus component, and it may be formed by chlorinating phosphorus trichloride, white phosphorus, yellow phosphorus or the like. Ammonium chloride is used as the nitrogen component, and it may be formed with ammonia and hydrogen chloride. The molar ratio of the nitrogen to phosphorus components is 1: above 0.8, pref. 1:0.8W2, and the amt. of catalyst added is above 0.01, pref. 0.1W10%.
