Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A Doppler radar 2 is located in a given place at a vehicle 1, and micro waves L1 are radiated at a given angle θ against a ground from an antenna 2a which receives their reflecting waves L1'. Another Doppler radar 4, which detects a driving speed of a driving wheel 3, is placed, and micro waves L2 are radiated toward an outer circumference 3a of a tyre 3 from an antenna 4a which receives their reflecting waves L2'. Doppler frequencies fd1 and fd2, which are proportional to a moving speed of the vehicle and the driving speed of the driving wheel 3, are output from the Doppler radars 2 and 4 respectively, and are input via amplifiers 5 and 7 and Schmidt circuits 6 and 8 respectively to a computing circuit 9 where a slip rate S is computed.
