Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a device for monitoring a continuously running sheet member which can effect its monitoring operations accurately and easily by constituting same such that a running design pattern is reproduced on an image receiving device as a stationary picture for an optional period of time.
CONSTITUTION: A camera 7 is located to face a printed surface of a continuously running printed paper 1. A strobo light emitter 6 is activated by an electric signal from a strobo power source 5 to emit light which illuminates a design pattern section of the paper 1 for a short period of time, whereby the design pattern is presented on an image pickup face of the camera 7 as a stationary picture. The stationary picture is photoelectrically converted on the image pickup face into electric signals which are applied through a control device 8 to a storage memory 9 to be stored therein as picture signals for one frame. The circuit is constituted such that the storage memory 9 keeps the contents stored therein until signals of an erase instruction are input thereto. Thus, recalling and reproducing operations can be continued for a period of time necessary for effecting a monitoring operation for an optional period of time.
