Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid off-control of a steering wheel, ride discomfort, and the like disadvantages by slanting a differential gear and reducing the slant angle of a shorter drive shaft relative to right and left drive wheel axle.
CONSTITUTION: A differential gear 3 is slanted rightward and united to a transmission 2. Output shafts 9 and 10 are also slanted by the same angle relative to the axle. The slant angle α' of a drive shaft 15 is decreased, the slant angle α of a drive shaft 16 is increased, and the difference between the slant angle (joint angles) α and α' is decreased. Thus the slant angles α and α' are strictly or nearly equal to each other so that rotational moments of right and left drive wheels are nearly equal to each other. Even in cases where transmission torque is large, such as in acceleration and high-speed running, the steering wheel is not pulled toward the side of the longer drive shaft 16.
