Abstract
PURPOSE: To greatly improve dehydration speed after filtering by connecting a vaccum pump to the filtered liquid discharge port of a filter press to make a filter chamber at filtered liquid discharge side in negative pressure at time of pressure process finishing after filtering process.
CONSTITUTION: When the distance between filter plates 6 is closed by hydraulic cylinder 7 with a valve 18 closed and a valve 17 open, and unprocessed liquid is introduced into a filter chamber through a supply pipe 10, the unprocessed liquid is filtered by a filter cloth 9, the filtered liquid being discharged through a discharge pipe 11 and a valve 17. Next, when pressurized water is introduced into a liquidtight chamber 13 through a pressurized water supply pipe, not illustrated, in a pressurization process to expand a diaphragm 12, cake 14 caught in the filter chamber is compressed. When a vacuum pump 16 is operated with the valve 17 closed and the valve 18 open just before this comressing process ends, negative pressure is generated in the filter chamber 15 at the side of filtered liquid discharge to ease the part of blockade contacting the filter cloth 9 and absorb the material liquid among non-filtered grain remainder, and gas-water separation is performed by a receiver 19.
