Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a miniature and rigid structure for the input device as well as to ensure the supply of a number of information signals through a simple operation in that the impact force is just applied via the impact pen onto the surface of the detecting electrode on the print wiring substrate coated with the piezoelectric substance layer.

CONSTITUTION: Detecting electrode 2X and 2Y, through-hole 3X plus reading wire 4Y are formed by printing on print wiring substrate 6 to which piezoelectric substance layer 5 made of the piezoelectric material. Then detecting electrodes 2 corresponding to coordinates X and Y of the same number are made paired, and the impact force is applied to the paired electrodes via impact pen 1 with the information signal supplied. To insure facilitated pressure bonding for pen 1 to electrode 2X and 2Y, pen guide plate 9 featuring a fixed relation to the form of the pen's tip is fixed under page plate 10 to give guidance to the movement of the tip part of pen 1. Furthermore, the information displaying the input information signals in the fixed character or symbol are arranged into a matrix form on plate 10 and thus supplied to substrate 6 via plate 9, buffer plate 8 and contact plate 7 respectively.
