Abstract
PURPOSE: Said material for packaging food that is prepared by adding tocopherols to stocks as synthetic resins, thus withstanding the storage for long periods of time, having excellent oxygen-barrier properties, permiting sterilization with heat and preventing the browning and rotting of the contents.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) stocks, preferably synthetic resins, cellulosic substances or their laminates, are added (B) 0.2W1, preferably 0.3W0.5 wt%, when synthetic resins are used, preferably 0.3W0.4 wt%, of tocopherols, preferably a mixture of 10W20% of d-α-tocopherol, 40W60% of d-γ-tocopherol, and 30W40% of d-δ- tocopherol and the mixture is made into desired forms as films by inflation method or others. Or at least one surface of packaging materials is coated with a coating composition containing tocopherols and synthetic resin vehicles or a liquid containing tocopherols.
