Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the subject device wherein the valve opening pressure of a fuel injection nozzle is varied depending upon the engine operating condition, the injection pressure is reduced in the low load region to suppress the generation of smoke, and the injection pressure is increased at a high load region to fully atmozie the fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection nozzle 1 constituting a part of a fuel injection device is opened or closed at its nozzle hole by means of a needle valve 3 accommodated slidably in upper and lower holders 2a and 2b, and its valve opening pressure is set by a spring 6 urged against a spring bearing 5 mounted on the base end of the needle valve 3. In this case, in order to make the valve opening pressure to be variable in correspondence to the engine operating state by the spring 6, a slide member 10 having pressure adjusting parts 10a and 10b having different thickness at the back surface of a spring bearing 9 is arranged at the other end of the spring 6, said slide member 10 being extracted through a lever 12 by the flow of a current to the solenoid in an engine high load region and the pressure adjusting part being brought into contact with the apring adjusting part 9.
