Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an f theta lens, which has a wide angle and which is compact and light, by satisfying the two points of reducing the afocal spacing and astigmatism and of establishing the distorsion aberration of a preset negative value as well as preset conditions. CONSTITUTION:A first lens 11 is a negative meniscus lens and is arranged to have its concave side of smaller radius of curvature facing an iris E. A second lens 12 is a positive meniscus lens and is arranged to have its convex side of smaller radius of curvature facing an image. A third lens 13 is a lens having both convex sides. Those three lenses constitute an f theta lens system. Thus, an f theta lens, which has a distance do between the first side of the first lens and the iris determined by the relationship of 0.05f<do<0.15f and an angle of view of 66 degrees, can be produced by making the conditions of Equations 1 to 6 satisfied by the respective lenses in their focal lengthes, radii of curvature of the refractive sides, spacings between the refractive sides on the optical axis, and the refractive indexes for the light of preset wavelength.
