Abstract

PURPOSE: To selectively separation recover oxyacid-contg. ions of V and molybdate ions from othe metal ions by adding an aliph. polymaine derivative as a recovering agent to a soln. used to treat a waste catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. soln. used to treat a waste catalyst is treated by adding an aliph. polyamine derivative such as N-monolauroyldiethylene-triamine hydrochloride obtd. by condensation of a polyamine of the formula, e.g. ethyleneiamine and a higher or halogenated fatty acid. The soln. contains (A) metal ions such as Ni and Co ions, (B) oxyacid-contg. ions of V such as vanadate ions and (C) molybdate ions. The soln. is then regulated to pH 3W5 and blown with air to separation recover the components (B) and (C) as bubbles from the component (A)-contg. soln. A soln. obtd. from the recovered bubbles is regulated to pH 8W10 and blown with air to separation recover the component (B) as bubbles from the unbubbled component (C)-contg. soln.
