Abstract
PURPOSE: A mold designed to provide good adhesion and to prevent the resin leak even with variation of part size in molding a part preliminarily set in the mold, by means of walls made of an elastomer in contact with the part.
CONSTITUTION: The picture tube 1a and the front panel 4a of precise dimensions are made as models, and mounted on the bottom force 9. The top force 8 is then placed on the force 9, and the rubber-like elastomers 17 and 19 are cast into the gap between the forces 8 and 9 and the picture tube 1a, and curved. After curving, the tube 1a and the panel 4a are removed to give a mold having the elastomers 17 and 19. The picture tube 1 to be processed is set in the mold thus obtained and insert molded. If the tube 1 has a dimensional error, the rubber-like elastomers 17 and 19 provide good adhesion between the forces 8 and 9.
