Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the power factor of an ozonizer independently of its peripheral equipments by providing a DC smoothing parallel reactor at the output side, i.e. the high voltage side of a boosting transformer and a DC smoothing series reactor between the parallel reactor and transformer or at the input side of the transformer. CONSTITUTION:Ozonizer 1 consists of grounded electrode 6 and high voltage side electrode 9 opposite to each other with dielectric 7 and discharge space 8 in-between. DC smoothing parallel reactor 17 for improving power factor is provided between ozonizer 1 and boosting transformer 2 applying AC high voltage to ozonizer 1. DC smoothing series reactor 16 is provided between reactor 17 and transformer 2 or at the input side of transformer 2. This circuit system utilizes, in principle, the combined effect of the series resonance of reactor 16 and the equivalent capacitor load of ozonizer 1, and the parallel resonance of reactor 17 and the load. Thus, the power factor of the output side of transformer 2 is considerably improved, contributing to a reduction in capacity of transformer 2.
