Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate temperature control of a liquid to be heated, by sensing the temperature of the liquid temperature and feeding its sigal back to an auxiliary power circuit for controlling the glow discharge.
CONSTITUTION: A voltage of an ac power source 24 is applied across main electroldes 1, 2 to heat a liquid flowing through intake pipes 16, 17 and the liquid is exhausted through discharge pipes 18, 19. The temperature of the discharged liquid is detected by a temperature sensor 36 and the signal is fed back to an auxiliary power circuit 25, which provides on-off control of the pilot glow discharge between the main electrodes 1, 2 and an auxiliary electrode 9 to regulate the liquid temperature.
