Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to accomplish the metering operation of a low frequency highly accurately within a short time by converting one period of the frequency to be metered into voltage signals with the use of an integrator and by operating the time interval corresponding to a frequency f.
CONSTITUTION: A first constant reference voltage VS1 is fed to a first integrator U1 during the period corresponding to one period of frequency signals to be meterd and fed to an input 1 so that the integrated voltage generated at that period is guided into and sampled by a sample holding circuit SMH thereby to hold the integrated voltage at the final instant. The voltage held in the circuit SMH is integrated by a second integrator U2 so that the time interval from the beginning of the integration of the voltage held in the circuit SMH to the time when the integrated output voltage of the second integrator U2 reaches a second constant reference voltage VS2 may be detected by a detecting circuit TM-D. The resultant time interval is counted by a counting circuit TM-CO so that the input frequency may be metered within such a shorter time period than its two cycles.
