Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the high speed copying operation possible with the use of a small apparatus by forming a first photosensitive drum with a toner image corresponding to an original and by turning the drum at a high speed so that a secondary electrostatic latent image is formed on a second synchronous photosensitive drum.
CONSTITUTION: A first photosensitive drum 2 is turned at a first speed so that an electrostatic latent image is formed to correspond to the original upon its carriage 1 and is visualized by a developing device 9. Then, the drum 2 is turned at a second higher speed so that a second photosensitive drum 12 rotating at the same speed and in the same direction as the drum 2 is irradiated with the toner image upon the first drum 2 with the use of a second exposing optical system 10 and exposed to the optical image thereby to form a second electrostatic latent image of the original. The resultant latent image is visualized by a developing device 15 and is transferred by a transfer device 17 to paper which is fed from a paper feeding device 16. The toner image upon the drum after transfer is cleaned by a cleaning device 19. Subsequently, the drums 2 and 12 are turned a preset copying number N so that an N number of copies may be obtained.
