Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the mounting accuracy of photo detectors by using a base provided with a circular cylindrical part and cylindrical body which is provided with a photo detector positioning part. CONSTITUTION:A circular cylindrical part 6b is provided concentrically with a reference circumference part 6a in the central part of a base 6 which has the reference circumference part 6a on the outside circumference and a cylindrical body 12 which is provided with a photo detector positioning part in the end part is prepared. Electrodes 7, 8 are then assembled to the base 6 and a ceramic insulator 10 having been evaporated with a conductor 11 on the circular cylindrical part 6b is placed, after which the cylindrical body 12 is fitted to the circular cylindrical part 6b; thereafter, while the conductor 11 is being heated, a photo detector 13 is inserted, while being positioned, to the end of the cylindrical body 12 provided with the positioning part, and the photo detector 13 is fusion-welded to the conductor 11.
