Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the abnormal rise in the pressure of gas at the top of a blast furnace, by providing a range adjusting valve and pressure regulating valves between the blast furnace and an energy recovering turbine and controlling both the valves by the gas pressure at the top of the blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas of the blast furnace 1 is conducted through a dust collector 2 and Venturi scrubbers 3, 3' to the turbine 7 and the pressure regulating valves 4, 5 and the range adjusting valve 6 which are coupled to the turbine 7. A first and a second pressure controller 18, 30, which are shifted by a changer 19, are connected to pressure transmitters 16, 16' which detect the pressure at the top of the blast furnace 1. The first pressure controller 18 sets the degree of opening of the regulating valves 4, 5 through a signal limiter 22 and a proportional bias setting unit 24. When the pressure at the top of the blast furnace has exceeded a predetermined level, the second pressure codntroller 30 is shifted by the changer 19 according to the output signal from such as a governor 14 to open the range adjusting valve 6 through a signal superiority selector 29 etc. to dischage a large quantity of the exhaust gas.
