Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the leak of exhaust from a partition wall by arranging the partition wall which divides in the axial direction inside a silencing chamber in inner and outer double wall structure and welding the divided inner cylinder onto the inner and outer surfaces at the middle part of the partition wall.
CONSTITUTION: A silencing chamber 6 is constituted of double wall structure consisting of an outer cylinder 8 and an inner cylinder 9, and said inner cylinder 9 consists of a punching metal having a number of small holes, and between said inner cylinder 9 and outer cylinder 8, sound absorbing materials 10 such as glass wool are filled. The inside of the silencing chamber 6 is divided in the axial direction by a partition wall 11, and said partition wall is of a short cylinder from, and one end is spread and contacted with the inner surface of the outer cylinder 8 by the outer cylinder installing part 12. Further, on the downstream side of the partition wall 11, partition walls 16 and 17 are fitted and spot-welded, having the inner cylinder 9 interposed. Thus, the leak of exhaust at the partition wall 11 part is prevented, and silencing characteristic can be maintained.
