Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a molded polyester article having inproved durability, adhesiveness, and printability, hygroscopicity, and water absorption, by treating a molded polyester article containing a metal saft of an organic sulfonic acid with an aqueous solution of an alkaline compound to remove the metal salt.
CONSTITUTION: A molded polyester article made from (A) a polyester consisting mainly of repeating units of formula I: (n is an integer 2W6) and (B) a metal salt of an organic sulfonic acid of formula II: (R is 3W30C alkyl, 7W40C aryl or alkylaryl group) is treated with an aqueous solution of an alkaline compound to remove at least part of the metal slat, thus forming micropores, at least part of which are communicating with each other, uniformly in the article. Sodium stearylsulfonate is cited as the metal salt.
