Abstract
PURPOSE:To estabilich the control unit for data transmission detectable almost all the failures for repeater. CONSTITUTION:The failure detection and selection circuit 20 monitors the clock signal of the clock reproduction circuit 13 of PLL system other than the output signal of the drive circuit 12, and detects the state of free run of the clock signal of the clock reproduction circfuit 13 by a failure of the demodulation circuit 10, extending the range of failure detection. Further, if a repeater at the pre-stage is in failure, the clock signal of the clock reproduction circuit 13 is in free run state in synchronizing with the clock in free run state, and no clock signal is inputted to the switching, causing similarly free run state. Thus, the wave shape signal from the wave shape circuit 9 is monitored, and if the wave shape signal is not of repetitive period as expected, the selection circufit 20 keeps present state, since it can not be discriminated whether the repeater at the pre-state is in failure or it is in failure of itself.
