Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A tube for laying a cable therein is filled with an aquaous solution obtained by adjusting an aquaous soluion having a specific gravity substantially equal to that of the cable to one having a suitable concentration of a cationic bicompound of a heavy metal or a halogenated metal, and then a cable is laid within the tube. In this way, the apparent weight of the cable can be reduced to an extent corresponding to the buoyancy of the cable to facilitate the operation of laying the cable.
