Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The title compound of formula I.
USE: Bifunctional monomers of polysiloxanes having improved properties.
PROCESS: Dichlorosilane and styrene are reacted in the presence of a homogeneous phosphine transition metal complex catalyst (a metal of Group VIII in the periodic table) at 30W150°C for 0.1W60hr to give phenethyldichlorosilane, which is then reacted with cyclohexene in the presence of chloroplatinic acid catalyst at 80W 150°C for 5W20hr to form the objective compound. The concentration of the complex is 1W10-15 mole %, preferably 1W10-8 mole % based on the phenethyldichlorosilane.
