Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 1,3−プロパンジオールを製造する方法であって、次の工程即ち (a)水酸化コバルト、酸化コバルト(II、III)および炭酸コバルトのう ちの少なくとも1つから選択されたコバルト塩を、少なくとも1種の活性コバル トカルボニルヒドロホルミル化触媒種を含むコバルトカルボニル反応生成物混合 物を生成させるのに有効な条件下で、本質的に非水混和性の液体媒質中で合成ガ スと反応させ、 (b)エチレンオキシドを、15重量%未満の3−ヒドロキシプロパナールを含 む中間体生成物混合物を生成させるのに有効な反応条件下で、触媒量の該コバル トカルボニル反応生成物混合物および有効量の触媒促進剤の存在下で、本質的に 非水混和性の液体媒質中で合成ガスと接触させ、 (c)水性液体を該中間体生成物混合物に添加しそして該3−ヒドロキシプロパ ナールの大部分を該水性液体中に抽出して、該中間体生成物混合物中の3−ヒド ロキシプロパナールの濃度よりも大きい濃度にて3−ヒドロキシプロパナールを 含む水性 相および該コバルトカルボニルの大部分を含む有機相を生じせしめ、 (d)該水性相を該有機相から分離し、 (e)該有機相の大部分を工程(b)の過程に戻し、 (f)3−ヒドロキシプロパナールを含む該水性相を、水素化条件下で水素化触 媒の存在下で水素と接触させて、1,3−プロパンジオールを含む水素化生成物 混合物を生じせしめ、そして (g)該水素化生成物混合物から1,3−プロパンジオールを回収する ことからなる上記方法。 2. 工程(a)および(b)の液体媒質がエーテルである、請求の範囲第1項 の方法。 3. 工程(a)および(b)の液体媒質がメチルt−ブチルエーテルである、 請求の範囲第1項の方法。 4. 工程(a)が約60〜約140℃の範囲内の温度および約400〜約25 00psigの範囲内の圧力にて行われる、請求の範囲第1項の方法。 5. 工程(a)が、液体媒質の重量に基づいて約0.5重量% ないし約2.0重量%の水の存在下で行われる、請求の範囲第1項の方法。 6. 工程(a)のコバルト塩が水酸化コバルトである、請求の範囲第1項の方 法。 7. 工程(a)が小量の添加コバルトカルボニルの存在下で開始される、請求 の範囲第1項の方法。 8. 工程(a)が触媒製造容器中で行われかつ工程(b)が別個のヒドロホル ミル化容器中で行われる、請求の範囲第1項の方法。 9. 工程(b)がヒドロホルミル化容器中で行われかつ工程(a)が該ヒドロ ホルミル化容器中でその場で行われる、請求の範囲第1項の方法。
