Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely connect a telephone call by directly reading telephone number numerals or the like written in a telephone book or the like and automatically performing dialing and originating a call based on directly read data. SOLUTION: A telephone set body 1 is provided with a light receiving part (a) for receiving infrared ray remote signals from a scanner 10 and automatically performs a calling operation by infrared ray remote signal reception. The scanner 10 reads and decodes a desired communication destination telephone number written in a telephone number book or the like and displays it on the liquid crystal screen of the scanner 10. When the transmission part 8 of the scanner 10 is turned to the light receiving part (a) of the telephone set body 1 and a transfer button is pressed after the desired communication destination telephone number displayed on the liquid crystal screen is visually confirmed, the telephone set body 1 automatically calls the desired communication destination telephone number. Thus, the telephone call is easily and surely connected.
