Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent compsn. which is stable even at a low temp., hardly produces soap scum, and is excellent in detergency by compounding water with an unsatd. fatty acid salt, a satd, fatty acid salt, a nonionic surfac tant, and sodium carbonate. SOLUTION: The unsatd. fatty acid salt is formed from an unsatd. fatty acid and a base. The unsatd. fatty acid is pref. a one selected form among oleic. linolic, linolenic, zoomaric, and gadoleic acids and a 14-22C unsatd. fatty acid obtd. from an oil or fat such as rice bran oil, cotton seed oil, rapeseed oil, soy bean oil, beef tallow, or lard. The base is sodium, potassium, etc., potassium being pref. The satd. fatty acid salt is formed form a satd. fatty acid such as caproic, caprylic, capric, lauric, or palmitic acid and a base similar to that of the unsatd. fatty acid salt. The nonionic surfactant is represented by the formula (wherein R<1> is a fatty acid residue; R<2> is H, methyl, or ethyl; EO is oxyethylene; and (n) is 1 or higher). Sodium carbonate is compounded as an inorg. electrolyte.

2. Description of the Related Art Soap is one of the oldest cleaning agents, but it has low raw material costs and manufacturing costs and is environmentally friendly.
Widely used for solid detergents, liquid detergents, etc. However, there are disadvantages such as low solubility in cold water and easy occurrence of so-called scum in hard water. Therefore, various studies have been made on soaps, that is, detergents containing fatty acid salts, in order to improve such disadvantages.

[0003] For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 7-53878 proposes a liquid detergent composition for clothing containing unsaturated fatty acid potassium soap, fatty acid monoethanolamide ethylene oxide adduct and potassium carbonate. Also, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-3300
No. 86 proposes a liquid detergent composition containing soap, a fatty acid amide of N-alkylmonoethanolamine and potassium carbonate. In these inventions, by adopting the above-described composition, the disadvantages of solubility of fatty acid soap and generation of scum are improved.
