- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.基端及び先端を持ち、少なくとも一つの内腔を有する細長いシャフトと、 基端及び先端を有し、少なくとも一つの内腔を有し、基端がシャフトの先端 に取り付けられた細長い移行チューブと、 基端及び先端を持ち、少なくとも一つの内腔を有し、基端が移行チューブの 先端に取り付けられ、融点が移行チューブよりも低い材料でできた細長いチップ チューブとを有し、 細長い移行チューブは、細長いチップチューブを構成する材料の少なくとも 150%の引っ張り強度を持つ材料で形成されていることを特徴とするカテーテ ル。 2.シャフトは、ショアーDジュロメータ硬度が75のチューブからなることを 特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 3.移行チューブの長さは、約2.5mmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載 のカテーテル。 4.移行チューブは、放射線不透過性材料が入ったショアーDジュロメータ硬度 が65のポリウレタンからなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 5.移行チューブは、引っ張り強度が少なくとも45MPa の一群の熱可塑性エラ ストマーから選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 6.チップチューブの長さは、約0.5cmであり、許容差が±1mmであることを 特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 7.チップチューブは、二酸化チタニウムを添加した透明なポリマーでできてい ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 8.基端及び先端を有し、少なくとも一つの内腔を有し、基端がチップチューブ の先端に取り付けられた細長いプラグチューブを有することを特徴とする請求項 1に記載のカテーテル。 9.プラグチューブは、ショアーDジュロメータ硬度が75の約2.5mmのチュ ーブからなることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のカテーテル。 10.マンドレルがプラグチューブの内腔の先端内に延び、プラグチューブの内腔 の基端から出、次いでチップチューブの内腔の先端内に延び、チップチューブ の内腔の基端から出、次いで移行チューブの先端内に延び、移行チューブの基端 から出、シャフトの内腔の先端内に延びることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のカ テーテル。 11.マンドレルは、シャフトの先端を越えて約15.2mm延び、シャフト内にぴ ったりと嵌まるように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のカテ ーテル。 12.マンドレルは、テフロンでコーティングしたステンレス鋼でできていること を特徴とする請求項10に記載のカテーテル。 13.シャフトの先端は、移行チューブの基端と混合し、これとともに流動するこ とを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 14.移行チューブの先端は、チップチューブの基端と混合し、これとともに流動 することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 15.チップチューブの先端は、プラグチューブの基端と混合し、これとともに流 動することを特徴とする請求項8に記載のカテーテル。 16.マンドレル、プラグチューブ、チップチューブ、及び移行チューブは、熱収 縮性材料製のチューブ内に入っていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のカテー テル。 17.熱収縮性チューブの長さは、10cmであることを特徴とする請求項16に記 載のカテーテル。 18.強化部材がシャフト内に少なくとも部分的に埋め込まれていることを特徴と する請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 19.強化部分は、編組線からなることを特徴とする請求項18に記載のカテーテ ル。 20.カテーテルチップの製造方法において、 (a)シャフトの後に、移行チューブ、チップチューブ、及びプラグチューブを 直線状に配置する工程と、 (b)直線状の配置を通ってシャフト内に延びる、直線状の配置内にぴったりと 嵌まるように形成されたマンドレルをプラグチューブの先端内に挿入する工程と 、 (c)熱収縮性チューブを直線状の配置上に前進させる工程と、 (d)赤外線熱源を移行チューブとカテーテルシャフトとの界面の上でほぼ中央 に配置する工程と、 (e)離間されたシャフト、移行チューブ、チップチューブ、及びプラグチュー ブを、同心性を失うことなく互いに結合するのに十分な電圧及び時間に赤外線熱 源を維持する工程と、 (f)赤外線熱源を取り除く工程と、 (g)冷却源を前進させ、これを移行チューブの上でほぼ中央に配置する工程と 、 (h)冷却源を取り除く工程と、 (i)熱収縮性チューブを取り除く工程と、 (j)マンドレルを取り除く工程と、 (k)チップチューブをトリミングする工程とを有することを特徴とする方法。 21.赤外線熱源を約30秒に亘って約50Vに維持することを特徴とする請求項 20に記載の方法。 22.冷却源を周囲空気温度で約20秒に亘って約80psi.に維持することを特徴 とする請求項20に記載の方法。
