2. Description of the Related Art Improving the meat quality and disease resistance of cultured fish is a very important issue in the current aquaculture industry. Therefore, various nutritional supplements and drugs are routinely used,
Since an effective administration method has not been established, it causes eutrophication and eutrophication in the cultured sea surface and drug-resistant bacteria. Immediate improvement is desired.

As nutritional supplements, vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, astaxanthin and the like, and as drugs, antibiotics and vaccines, etc., these are already on the market. There are various ways of using these, for example, vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and pigments are mixed in advance with the feed raw material.
It is often adsorbed and used in the field to produce a characteristic feed. When a fish disease occurs, the drug is adsorbed to the feed on site. As described above, the administration methods include mixing with feed, adsorption, injection into fish bodies, immersion in fish bodies, etc., but each has its own problems.

Each administration method has the following problems. 1. When mixed and adsorbed in feed, the active ingredient will be dissipated in environmental water during feeding of fish. Also, feeding requires labor. 2. Injection into a fish body is very time-consuming and also gives high stress to the fish. 3. The effect is low when the fish is immersed, because the concentration of the drug is reduced and the drug is absorbed from the surface of the fish. Also, immersion in a cage or the like is not practical.

The active ingredient-administering beads for fish of the present invention are beads obtained by incorporating a natural polymer gelling agent into the outer membrane and incorporating active ingredients such as various nutritional supplements and drugs, or the gelling agent. And the active ingredient are mixed and then gelled to be beads. Since it is only necessary to orally administer the bead to the target fish directly in an optimum amount, there is no need for special equipment, feeding, or technology, and there is no stress on the target fish.

The natural polymer gelling agents include gelatin, pectin, chitosan, gum, alginic acid and the like. For gelatin, pectin, gum, etc., it is necessary to keep water warm when dissolving these substances in water. Since chitosan is soluble in acid, it must be dissolved in an aqueous solution of malic acid, acetic acid, etc., which is harmless to the living body, and this sour taste and odor reduce the palatability of fish, and the coagulation liquid currently contains dodecyl sulfate. There are many problems to be solved, such as having to use a substance harmful to the body called sodium.

Alginic acid is soluble in water without any treatment, and the coagulating liquid is safe for the living body because it uses calcium chloride as a food additive. As described above, alginic acid is preferable as the natural polymer gelling agent in view of the technical aspects of producing beads. In making the beads of the present invention, in the case of alginic acid, 0.5-2% wt, preferably 1.0-1.
A 5% wt gelling agent aqueous solution is used.

To prepare the beads of the present invention, in the case of inclusion beads, a double nozzle is used, and the gelling agent is dropped from the outer nozzle and the active ingredient is dropped into the coagulating liquid from the inner nozzle to form beads. The size of the beads can be arbitrarily adjusted by changing the diameter of the dropping nozzle for the amount of the liquid dropped into the coagulating liquid. In the case of kneading type beads, a gelling agent and an active ingredient are mixed and dropped into a coagulating liquid from a nozzle to form beads. As the coagulating liquid, polyvalent metal salts, saccharides, sugar alcohols, organic acids, tannin and the like can be used, but in the case of alginic acid, calcium chloride is particularly effective. The particle size of the beads can be freely adjusted, and the particle size of the nozzle is selected. If smaller size beads are desired, a spray may be used. In the case of any of the beads, an emulsifier or the like is appropriately used in combination depending on the properties of the mixture.

Example 1 (1) Production of Squid Liver Oil-Containing Beads First, sodium alginate was dissolved in distilled water with stirring while stirring, and 0.5 to 2.0 wt%, preferably 1.0.
An aqueous alginic acid solution of ˜1.5 wt% is prepared. Then, using a device as shown in FIG. 1, a double-structured droplet in which the outer membrane is alginic acid and the inside is squid liver oil was added dropwise to a 5% calcium chloride aqueous solution to coagulate to prepare beads containing squid liver oil.

(2) Administration of squid liver oil-containing beads Test fish: rainbow trout beads used: squid liver oil-containing beads The state in the stomach after administration of squid liver oil-containing beads was observed.
That is, squid liver oil-containing beads were administered to rainbow trout, and the number of squid liver oil-containing beads in the stomach after a certain time and the number of beads only in the outer membrane were measured, and the squid liver oil-containing beads ratio (number of included beads in stomach / The total number of beads in the stomach) was calculated to confirm the state of the squid liver oil-containing beads in the stomach. The results are shown in Table 1.

The squid liver oil-containing beads reached the stomach at a considerably high rate, suggesting that the active ingredient was less dissipated into the environmental water due to the fish chewing the beads during feeding.
Further, from FIG. 2, it was considered that although the beads remained as they were in the stomach, only the outer membrane of the beads remained in the intestine, and the contents were reliably released into the intestine.
