Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 中実の壁体に高強度の留め具要素を形成する方法であって: 中実の壁体に所定直径の穴を形成する工程; 所定の初期長さを有し、実質的に中実で略筒状のプラスチックプラグを、前記 穴の中に完全に挿入する工程;及び プラスチックプラグ留め具の中に、ネジ要素を回転させながら挿入する工程; を有しており、該方法が特徴とするのは、 プラスチックは、高い剪断強度を具え、ネジ要素によって圧力と温度の上昇が もたらされると押出し可能になる材料からなり、プラスチックプラグ留め具の直 径は壁穴の直径に略等しく、ネジ要素の直径はプラグ留め具の直径に略等しく; 壁穴の直径はプラスチックプラグの直径よりも最大0.02”(1/2mm)大きく、ネ ジ要素の直径はプラスチックプラグの直径に関して±0.02”(1/2mm)の範囲内 にあり; ネジ要素を回転させながら挿入することにより、圧力をプラスチックに作用さ せて、プラスチックが押し出されるほどの高温にまでプラスチックを昇温させる ことにあり: a)ネジ要素の隣り合うネジ部の間で、プラスチック に非常な高圧を作用させ; b)非常な高圧で圧縮されたプラスチックの膜を、ネジ要素のネジ部の外エッ ジを実質的に取りまくように形成し;及び c)壁の穴の表面欠陥部分にプラスチックを押し込むことである。 2. 穴の深さは、プラスチックプラグの初期長さより、少なくとも30%は深く している請求項1の方法。 3. ネジ要素は、プラスチックプラグを穴の底部に向けて押し込むよりも優先 的にプラグに侵入できるようにするために、先端部が鋭利である請求項1の方法 。 4. ネジ要素は、回転による挿入を容易ならしめるために、六角形のヘッド部 を有している請求項3の方法。 5. プラスチックは、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン並びにポリプロピレン及 びポリエチレンの共重合体からなる群から選択される請求項1の方法。 6. プラスチックプラグは、ネジ要素を回転させて挿入するとき、プラグの回 転を防止する手段を具えている請求項1の方法。 7. 回転防止手段は、プラスチックプラグ留め具のネジ要素挿入側の周縁部に 、2又は3以上の小さなフィンを突設して構成され、プラグ留め具が穴に挿入さ れるとき、フィンは、プラグと穴の壁との間でくさび留めとしての役割を果たす ようにしている請求項6の方 法。 8. フィンは、ネジ要素挿入のときに生じる圧力により、留め具が壁の中に落 ち込むのを防止する手段を形成している請求項7の方法。 9. プラグ留め具は、長手方向に隙間が形成され、挿入されたネジ要素はその 隙間によって、プラグの略中心に挿入されるように実質的に案内され、プラスチ ックはネジ要素の略円周部を取りまくことができるようにしている請求項1の方 法。 10.隙間は、プラグ留め具の2つの長軸要素を互いに突き合わせて実質的に中 実で略筒状のプラスチックプラグを形成する際に、長軸要素の面と面の間に形成 される請求項9の方法。 11.請求項1の方法により作られたプラスチックプラグとネジ要素から構成さ れる留め具要素。
